Rock around the docks (tonight)

So tonight it was time to try out both new purchases, my new running shoes and new sports bra. I met Phil just after 4.30pm at the Bristol Planetarium by the docks, it's a huge iconic mirrored sphere that dominates Millennium square.

We ran around the docks soaking in the atmosphere there. It really is a mixed bag of boats/boat-restaurants with twinkling lights and, although very new and very swish, somewhat deserted and soulless apartments.

Phil's suggestion of running up Jacobs Wells road, Brandon Hill then up around Cabot Tower became more and more unattractive as my new trainers were starting to rub on the sole of my right foot. We ended up doing about 5and a half miles on the flat that included a run up and down a few concrete steps. The pace was fair for me and slow for Phil (with not enough hills) who prefers to run cross-country, I was hoping the horse shit by SS Great Britain would help him feel more at home.

By the end of the run I had a blister on my right foot and a good mind to phone Moti for some help/sympathy/solution...which I will do tomorrow. On the up side....bounce under control and dare I say practically non existent......level 4 Shock Absorber definitely rocks.
